Photographic Archive of Southeastern Nigerian Art and Culture
This is an archive of digitized photographs depicting the arts and cultures of southeastern Nigeria. The collection includes examples from Ibibio, Igbo, Ijo and Ogoni speaking peoples. All of the photographs were taken in the 1930s by the late G.I. Jones, Department of Social Anthropology, University of Cambridge.

The Regent School

It started as Universal Tutorial College, Ile-Ife, providing basic remedial studies for candidates sitting for Ordinary and Advanced Level, External examinations. University of Agriculture, Abeokuta
The University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, (UNAAB), Ogun State was established on January 1, 1988 by the Federal Government when four Universities of Technology, earlier merged in 1984, were demerged. This led to the creation of the first two Universities of Agriculture in Abeokuta and Makurdi. Prior to the emergence of UNAAB, the Federal Government had established the Federal University of Technology, Abeokuta (FUTAB) in 1983. Then, in 1984, it was merged with the University of Lagos and had its name changed to the College of Science and Technology, Abeokuta (COSTAB), before the demerger of January, 1988.

University of Agriculture, Makurdi
University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State (UAM) is one of the two premier Universities of Agriculture, established in 1988. It succeded the Makurdi Campus of the University of Jos (Established in 1984), which in turn had succeded the former University of Technology, Makurdi (Established in 1980). The University was setup to pioneer new institutional approaches to the generation and dissemination of new agricultural technologies. The University of Agriculture, Makurdi was established against the background of an existing network of faculties of agricultures in about 24 federal owned general universities and fourteen states' owned Universities.

University of Benin, Edo State
The University of Benin was founded in 1970. It started as an Institute of Technology and was accorded the status of a full-fledged University by National Universities Commission (NUC) on 1st July, 1971. In his Budget Speech in April 1972, the then Military Governor of Mid-Western State, Col. S. O. Ogbemudia (then also Visitor to the University) formally announced the change of the name of the Institute of Technology to the University of Benin. On 1st April, 1975 the University at the request of the State Government, was taken over by the Federal Government and became a Federal Government and became a Federal University.

University of Calabar, Calabar
University of Calabar was established on 25th October, 1975. It grew out of the Calabar Campus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka which began functioning as such in the 1973/74 academic session with 154 students and a small cadre of academic, administrative and technical staff. In April, 1975, the Federal Military Government of Nigeria announced that, as part of the Third National Development Plan, seven new universities would be established at selected locations throughout the country. The University of Calabar was one of the seven universities established under this programme by the Federal Military Government.
