Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta
The establishment of Moshood Abiola (formerly Ogun State) Polytechnic was necessitated by the Federal Government white paper on National Policy on Education, which declared that: technical education forms the basis of technological development and as such, a greater proportion of educational expenditure would continually be devoted to technical education by government, both at the Federal and State levels. The Polytechnic commenced operation on two temporary campuses, namely: Oke-Egunya and Onikolobo. Movement of all departments from the temporary campuses to the permanent site at Ojere started in April 1985 and was completed in March, 1988.

National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)
The National Board for Technical Education is a principal organ of Federal Ministry of Education specifically created to handle all aspects of Technical and Vocational Education falling outside University Education. It was established by Act No. 9 of 11th January, 1977. In addition to providing standardised minimum guide curricula for technical and vocational education and training (TVET), the Board supervises and regulates, through an accreditation process, the programmes offered by technical institutions at secondary and post secondary levels. It is also involved with the funding of Polytechnics owned by the Government of the Federation of Nigeria.

National Examinations Council
One of the last acts of the Abdulsalami Abubakar military administration was the promulgation of a decree, in April 1999, that created the National Examinations Council (NECO).  That act, however, was only the climax of a process whose beginning predated the administration. By its mandate, NECO was to take over the responsibilities of the National Board for Educational Measurement (NBEM) which was created, in 1992, by the Ibrahim Babangida administration, although its enabling decree was promulgated in 1993.

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)
T he Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is the officer cadets training institution in Nigeria. It was established in January 1964 in response to one of the defence needs of the then newly independent Nigeria to train Nigerian Cadets for commission into the 3 armed services, the Army, Navy and Air Force. The initial training team comprised mainly of Indian Army officers. Prior to this time, the institution was called the Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC). Upon independence, it was renamed the Nigerian Military Training College (NMTC).
